North Walsham Angels - 1 - Costessey Sports Girls U11's - 1

COSTESSEY SPORTS GIRLS U11's completed a remarkable transformation in their season by reaching the league cup final with a 3-1 aggregate win over North Walsham. After a 2-0 home win in the first leg we visited North Walsham knowing that the home team would put us under considerable pressure to get back in the game. In the first half our opponents mounted several attacks but Alisha and Georgia were very solid in defence and Emma H pulled off several fine saves to leave the score 0-0 at half time. Early in the second half Costessey took the lead. Lily C had been keeping the home defence at full stretch with her pace and from one such break the ball broke to Erica who shot home in fine style. Midway through the second half North Walsham equalised but with midfielders Abbie and Lilli U determined to compete for every ball the game ended in a draw.

Special mention for our three subs - Emma G, Chloe and Fiona. The achievement of reaching the final is a well deserved reward for the team who have stuck together during a difficult first season winning five out of the last 7 games

Girls Under 11's in the new Radio Broadland Kids kit

Our girls under 11's team recently enjoyed the opportunity to play at Carrow Road. They played a six-side match prior to the Norwich City v Sheffield Wednesday game. Afterwards players and parents were treated to the Championship match however as it turned out the six-a-side was more entertaining than the Canaries match!
